FAQ:
How do I get there? (directions)
From the Hyatt walk south on Brickell Av for five minutes. Look to your right. It's 600 Brickell World Plaza! Enter the building and go to the security desk. They will have your name on a list.
Why am I learning about this so late?
I fully understand the late timing of this information will likely preclude many visitors from attending due to lack of advance planning. I announced this class a couple of weeks ago in the PRIVATE Facebook group, Florida Training- Climate Reality Leadership Corps. A small number of candidates followed my instructions, expressed interest via email and a statement of rationale, as instructed. However, most of 1,280 Climate Reality attendees are not part of this private FB group. The Climate Reality Corps Project Manager for Miami training, Olena, told me the best way to announce this special offer is through our MENTORS. They in turn would notifiy the mentees (you). The list of mentors was released late last week. The list of mentees (new Climate Leaders; you) was provided to the mentors on Sunday, 9/20. I have asked all 60 of my fellow mentors to share this with their groups. I would appreciate your spreading the word within this circle.
Why are you doing this?
Particularly for Climate Leaders visiting Miami from far away... I can have a role in your carbon footprint. Let's face it. -- For many of you, this was a highly carbon-intensive trip , not unlike my trip to India for my Climate Leader training. Like Mr. Gore, my biggest hope is that the good I do -- the behavior and policy change I trigger through my activities -- will result in more good than bad. That is my goal. In other words, I hope the carbon I reduce as a result of my activities will exceed the carbon I expend engaging in those activities. This is the reason for this course. The location and dates of this class were no mistake. I hope you will partake of this amazing opportunity and that it'll help you make your trip to Miami even more beneficial. If you become a more effective educator and advocate as a result of this course, and diminish more net carbon than the CO2 emitted by making your trip, then it was worthwhile. This is why I am here. |
